Pocatello has a lot of older housing, and older homes come with older water heater setups. Tanks are often tucked into basements, crawl spaces, or tight utility closets. Getting the old one out and a new one in can take some know-how.
Like most of Southeast Idaho, Pocatello has hard water. Minerals settle at the bottom of a tank and can make a water heater noisy, less efficient, and shorter-lived. Tankless units need regular descaling in hard water, too.
Winters here are cold, and garages and unheated spaces can get very cold. If your water heater lives in one, ask us about the best way to protect it and the pipes around it.
